“Born in the desert heat and crafted by the hands of friends, Antelope Valley Brewery is where local flavor and community spirit come together.”
In 2023, Lee and Angela Egstrom became the proud owners of Antelope Valley Winery, a 45-year-old gem nestled in the heart of the Antelope Valley. With fully remodeled and upgraded modern farmhouse buildings as well as acres of flourishing vineyards, the winery reflects the region’s deep agricultural roots.
The Antelope Valley is known for more than just its fertile soil under foot—as locals are proud to say it’s also a hub for aviation and aerospace innovation, where the skies above have witnessed groundbreaking test flights that changed the future. Inspired by this unique blend of land and sky, the Egstroms saw an opportunity to go beyond winemaking. They set out to create something that honored both the valley’s agricultural history and its pioneering spirit by introducing craft beer, hard cider, and mead to their lineup.
The heart of Antelope Valley Brewery is built on a strong sense of community and friendship. Shortly after purchasing the winery, Lee and Angela reconnected with old friends Dave and Holly Jennings at the Wineries Farmers Market one Saturday morning last fall.
Lee and Dave’s history stretches back decades, from riding Harleys together to helping Thunder on the Lot, a local car and bike show founded by Ron and Yvette Emard, that raised funds for local children’s charities. Dave, retired from public service, has quietly been brewing in his spare time for over 15 years, while both he and Holly raised two sons and remained active in their local church.
The bond between the Egstroms and the Jennings has always been rooted in their shared dedication to making the Antelope Valley a better place to live. Angela has been a beloved local school teacher for over 20 years, shaping the lives of countless children, including their two daughter, while Lee, a local entrepreneur and philanthropist, has spent years investing in the valley’s growth and serving in various leadership roles on community boards.
Together, their commitment to community led to the creation of Antelope Valley Brewery.
What began as a conversation about starting a brewery quickly turned into a shared mission. Dave, though initially hesitant, soon returned with a plan that combined his brewing expertise and their shared vision of bringing something new to the valley. From their first batch of Blood Orange Pale Ale to today’s selection of craft beers and ciders, Antelope Valley Brewery is a tribute to the valley’s hardworking spirit and the friendships that sustain it.
Now, Antelope Valley Brewery stands as a reflection of the Valley’s rich agricultural past and its soaring future.
Every glass raised is more than a celebration of local brews—it’s a testament to the deep-rooted values of friendship, community, and the belief that together, we can make the Antelope Valley an even better place to call home.
